The immune system has intrinsic ability to distinguish self from non-self. However, dysregulation of immune system is implicated in many diseases such as tumor development and autoimmunity. New development towards understanding the immune system can improve development of new tools for controlling autoimmunity and preventing infectious diseases and tumor development.
